Photography Policy
Legendary for its charm, elegance and gracious Southern hospitality, The Peabody Memphis has been made world-famous for its 5 resident ducks, who march daily through the Lobby at 11am and 5pm. Built in 1869, the downtown luxury hotel is on the National Register of Historic Places and continues to carry the distinction as the “South’s Grand Hotel.”
Each year people travel from all over the world to experience the Southern hospitality and historic grandeur The Peabody has become known for. To ensure our guest experience and preserve the beauty and history of The Peabody, we have created the following policy pertaining to photo and video shoots.
Commercial photoshoots and filming must be coordinated through The Peabody’s marketing department. Location fees and/or room rental fees may apply and vary based on the scope of work. Photo shoots are approved on a case-by-case basis.
We reserve the right to decline any photo or video shoot request if it is deemed inconsistent with The Peabody’s brand as the “South’s Grand Hotel” and its reputation for elegance, tradition and history.
VISITOR PHOTOGRAPHY POLICY
We welcome our guests to capture memories on their mobile device during their stay for personal and recreational (non-commercial) purposes.
• Privacy and respect for other hotel guests must be observed at all times.
• Respect for the facility must be observed at all times and photography may not interfere with hotel operations.
– Spaces must remain 100% intact without moving, rearranging or standing on furniture.
– Doors, walkways, entrances and elevators may not be blocked for any reason.
– Due to the busy nature of the Peabody Lobby Bar, especially during Duck March times, the Lobby Fountain area is off limits for photo shoots.
– The availability of specific spaces cannot be guaranteed. For example, the Rooftop is often closed for private events or inclement weather.
• Professional equipment, including tripods, lighting equipment and reflectors are not permitted.
• Professional portrait photography, including photo shoots that include professional equipment or wardrobe changes are not permitted.
We reserve the right to request that any photography or filming stop if it is deemed disruptive or non-compliant with our policy.
BRIDAL PHOTOGRAPHY POLICY
From wedding ceremonies and receptions to bridal brunches and rehearsal dinners, The Peabody has been the site of countless wedding events.
Only contracted wedding clients of The Peabody may take Engagement/bridal/wedding photos at the hotel. Contracted wedding clients should make arrangements for photography with their Peabody Wedding Specialist and any photo shoots will be limited to the day of the contracted event(s).
