In 1939, The Peabody elevated its rooftop experience with the creation of the magnificent Skyway Ballroom, an elegant destination for dining, dancing, and evenings beneath the stars. Paired with its adjoining outdoor terrace, the Skyway quickly became one of Memphis’ most coveted settings for an unforgettable night out. The guest list was nothing short of extraordinary. This ballroom welcomed some of the most celebrated names of the big-band era, while its legendary reputation reached a national audience as one of only three live broadcast locations for CBS Radio. For generations, The Peabody has been a place where the guest have felt entirely at home inside the Skyway Ballroom.

Today, the Skyway Ballroom remains a setting where history, elegance, and celebration meet and set an extraordinary stage for occasions destined to become part of The Peabody Memphis’ continuing story.
